I am so going to use some of these resources to plan a gaming unit with my students.

Gamestar Mechanic is a game and online community that teaches kids how to design their own games. Designing games builds Systems Thinking, 21st Century Skills, Creative Problem Solving, Art and Aesthetics, Writing and Storytelling, and creates a motivation for STEM learning.

Game Salad is a free downloadable program that let's users easily create web-based, iphone and ipad games.

Sploder is a really cool, educational online gamemaking website. There is even a physics game creator.

Scratch is a free downloadable program for making games that was developed by the MIT Media Lab.
